For years, the only active franchise at GK Productions was Philip Krieg. Though very successful and fulfilling, Martin Groff recommended that GK Productions expand its offerings a little more for 2012, so that each AMPCorp division would meet a reccomended quota of two active franchises.
Thus, "Blackwater," a crime drama, was born into its first season of 5 episodes. The show revolves around Detective Henry Blackwater (Martin Groff), his crooked commissioner (Philip Krieg) and his accomplice (Robyn Moore), with recurring character Officer Higgins as a friend of Blackwater (Charlotte Ferris). Season once included several cameos from inside and outisde AMPCorp.
Since AMPCorp has never tried this type of series before, "Blackwater" was largely considered experimental. It completed its second season in 2013, though with less enthusiasm as the year before. With the end of the Philip Krieg franchise, it was kept in the lineup for a third season in 2014, but future plans currently do not include a fourth season.
